Rebecca Jones is Director of Data Science & Research at the Patient Safety Authority (PSA). In this role, she sets the vision and guides strategy for PSA's data science and research work and leads a diverse team of professionals who perform original research and use advanced analytics to identify key data insights and actionable recommendations that improve patient safety. Becky also founded and serves as Director of the PSA's Center of Excellence for Improving Diagnosis. Prior to her current roles, Becky acted as Director of Innovation & Strategic Partnerships, overseeing PSA's infection prevention, project management, collaborative, and innovation programs, and as Regional Patient Safety Liaison, working directly with more than 80 Pennsylvania healthcare facilities to improve patient safety through education, collaboration, and analysis of reported events. Before joining PSA, Becky served in various roles leading patient safety efforts and proactively managing risk in healthcare organizations.

Becky graduated summa cum laude and was awarded the Elizabeth F. Wagoner Nursing Medal from Immaculata University and earned her Master of Business Administration degree in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University. She is a registered nurse, Certified Professional in Patient Safety, and Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management. She is Chair of the Practice Committee of the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine and serves on the Advisory Committee of the Coalition to Improve Diagnosis.
