Howard Newstadt joined the Patient Safety Authority (PSA), in April 2010 and serves as its senior director of Finance and Business Operations, and chief information officer. His previous positions include director of Information Technology for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, executive director of Business Affairs for the Yale University School of Medicine, and as a senior financial planner for the IBM Corporation, Entry Systems Division in Boca Raton, Florida. He received his bachelor’s in English from Dickinson College, a Juris Doctor with emphasis in health law from the University of Pittsburgh School Of Law, and a Master of Business Administration with emphasis in finance and quantitative analysis from Penn State’s Smeal College of Business, University Park campus. Newstadt is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also a Certified Government Chief Information Officer.
