Denise Cutting is a registered nurse and infection prevention advisor for the Patient Safety Authority (PSA). In this role, she serves as a resource for Pennsylvania facilities through education and the development of infection prevention initiatives. Cutting’s clinical experience includes medical-surgical, telemetry, and performance improvement. Prior to joining the PSA, Cutting was the regional manager of Infection Prevention and Control for the Geisinger and Penn State Health systems. During that time, Cutting facilitated navigating the COVID pandemic and assisted with opening a new hospital.

Cutting resides in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Sacred Heart University with a Master of Science in nursing. She graduated from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a Master of Health Science in nutrition. She is board-certified in infection control and epidemiology (CIC) and serves as a board member for the East Central Pennsylvania Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology chapter.
