Linda Waddell, RN, MSN, CJCP, CPPS, is the Senior Manager of Quality and Crisis Intervention at UPMC. In this role, Linda provides expert leadership on a wide variety of patient safety topics and manages clinical crisis intervention for the 20-plus hospitals in the UPMC health system. Linda has worked across the health system's U.S. and international facilities on patient safety and regulatory activities since 2006. She has been a member of the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Advisory Editorial Board since 2012 and is a certified Joint Commission Professional active in supporting hospitals during surveys. Linda is certified as a National Patient Safety Professional by the National Patient Safety Foundation. Linda spent the first 26years of her most of her nursing career in the emergency department, including 10 years at UPMC Shadyside.
She received her BSN from Pennsylvania State University and her MSN from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Waddell was appointed to the Board by the Governor to fill the position designated for a nurse pursuant to MCARE Act Section 303(b)(4).
