Amelia Paré, MD
Dr. Amelia Paré is a board certified plastic surgeon, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is a past president of the Allegheny Medical Society and recently served as a board member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
Dr. Paré began her career at Harvard University, where she completed her pre-med studies, and majored in Chemistry (under advisor Dudley Herschbach, a Nobel laureate). While at Harvard, she became a varsity rower and spent a summer studying at Oxford University in England. She received her medical degree from Hahnemann/Drexel University Medical School in Philadelphia. After med school, Dr. Paré spent five years training at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, University Hospital of Columbia University College of Physicians in New York City, where she served as chief resident in General Surgery.
Following residency, she began her two-year specialty training in Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles. After receiving her certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, she entered private practice. Dr. Paré has privileges at UPMC and Highmark facilities in the Pittsburgh area.
Dr. Paré was appointed to the Board by the Speaker of the House of Representatives to fill the position of a resident of the Commonwealth pursuant to MCARE Act Section 303(b)(2).
