Shelly Mixell serves as the Communications Specialist for the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority. In this capacity, she assists with brand development and pulications. She is an integral member of the team by developing content, growing the Authority's online presence, and coordinating daily operations.
She previously served as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director. In that role, she provided administrative support to the Executive Director, the Authority's 11-member Board of Directors, as well as other Authority leaders and staff. She also serves as the agency's Open Records Officer, handling all Right-to-Know Law requests.
Ms. Mixell assisted with the coordination, preparation and scheduling of educational programs, session documentation, invitations, and statewide webinars. She provided support to several Authority led collaborative programs, including those for the Pennsylvania Hospital Engagement Network (PA-HEN). She has been instrumental in supporting current and past I AM Patient Safety Campaigns, as well as the Authority's annual state-wide conference, the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Summit (P2S2). Ms. Mixell is pursuing a degree in Business Administration from Western Governors University.
Prior to joining the Patient Safety Authority, she worked in various engineering, safety, environmental, public health, and emergency preparedness settings.
