Jeff Bomboy of Wyoming, Pennsylvania is a 1977 graduate of the Geisinger Medical Center School of Nursing.  In 1991 he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Administration from Saint Joseph's College in Maine.

Jeff has worked for the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority as a Patient Safety Liaison since 2012. He interacts with Patient Safety Officers (and various other health care staff) in approximately 80 different health care facilities across northeastern Pennsylvania in an effort to decrease patient safety events. He also provides regional and site specific educational programs in response to identified patient safety needs of Pennsylvania healthcare facilities. He has facilitated a collaboration with 11 ambulatory surgical facilities (ASFs) located in northeastern Pennsylvania in an effort to decrease unplanned transfers and cancellations. He coauthored an Advisory column detailing the collaboration.

He authored an Advisory column on unsafe injection practices and drug shortages in ASF's that was published in December 2012.

He is a member of the Pennsylvania Health Literacy Coalition. Jeff is a Core Team Lead for the Authority's Center of Excellence for Improving Diagnosis. He provides guidance and support for health care facilites, systems, providers, and patients to decrease harm from diagnostic error.

Previous to joining the Patient Safety Authority he worked in various settings as a registered nurse and in an administrative capacity in the healthcare industry for over 40 years. He is  a Certfied Professional in Patient Safety.
