Kathleen Law, MS, BSN, RN

Kathleen Law, MS, BSN, RN is the Vice President of Nursing, Perioperative Services for the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. Kathy provides leadership for Perioperative Services for the Level 1 Adult and Pediatric trauma center which includes the adult and pediatric Operating Rooms, Perianesthesia, Nursing Vascular Access Team, and Employee Health. In addition to the daily operational responsibilities for Perioperative Services, Kathy serves as a member of the Patient Safety Committee, the Just & Fair Culture Subcommittee, the Diversity Council, the Community Health Advisory Board, the Penn State Health Recognition Steering Committee, the Department of Nursing Reward & Recognition Committee, and BLS instructor. Kathy is also active in her local community of Mountville and serves on the Board of Directors for the Mountville Community Services Foundation. Kathy has been a nursing leader in Perioperative Services for many years and is active in several professional organizations such as the Association of peri-Operative Nurses (AORN), the Association of Nurse Executives (AONE), and the Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders (PONL). She is currently working on her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) through the University of Pittsburgh. Kathy was actively involved in the development of the recently published Safe Prescribing of Opioids in Pediatric and Adolescent Populations guidelines and revisions to the Treating Chronic Non-Cancer Pain guidelines for the PA Dept. of Health. Ms. Law was appointed to the Board by the Governor to fill the position of a Commonwealth resident health care worker pursuant to MCARE Act Section 303(b)(7).
