The liaison program was started ten years ago to provide facilities guidance for navigating the MCARE Act and develop strategies to reduce harm. The original team of six now consists of eight professional who bring a breadth of depth of knowledge and expertise. This expertise translates into a broad range of services. Patient Safety Liaisons (PSLs) provide guidance, coordinate educational programs, encourage collaboration, and solicit feedback from Pennsylvania healthcare facilities that report Incidents and Serious Events under Act 13 of 2002. Authority PSLs interact with facilities according to region (see map).
