National Nurses Week 2020: Stories from the Front Line

We should show our appreciation for nurses every day, but each year a special week is set aside in May to recognize and celebrate the important role they play in healthcare. The compassion and dedication of nurses have come to the forefront throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, prompting messages of gratitude as they continue to work under extraordinary circumstances to care for their patients.

For this National Nurses Week (May 6–12), and the rest of May, we are sharing the experiences of nurses on the frontline during the current public health crisis, as well as reflections on how nursing might shape healthcare in the aftermath of COVID-19. Please take a moment to read and share these stories from some of the brave, committed nurses who are putting their own health at risk and making sacrifices to help others.
