Romney, JD, MPH, MS, RN, associate professor at Jefferson College of Population Health, will define culture, cultural humility, and competence in healthcare delivery/services; delineate how cultural competence is a component of patient safety; demonstrate foundational communication skills to build connections and engage patients; define implicit bias and its impact on patient care; and identify organizational strategies for implementing Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) standards.
